Hi friends. I have another recipe I’d like to share. This time … I’m actually participating in Get Your Chef on hosted by Julie from White Lights on Wednesday, and Jen from Four Marrs on Venus. They’re both awesome! Make sure to check out their sites!! I was excited about this secret ingredient because I have been wanting to share this recipe.
A little back story … my wonderful in-laws helped watch our 5 kids while I was in the hospital (and my wonderful husband was back and forth between me and the babe and the other kids) and I came home to a yummy treat my mother-in-law had made. She told me what was in it and I knew I HAD to make it. I was so excited. 🙂
It is simple, yummy, and healthy- ish. 🙂
1 pouch from a 16 oz box of Fiber One Cereal
2 cups (1 bag) choclolate chips (I am LOVING dark chocolate lately, but the true recipe is actually semi-sweet)
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
|Nothin’ better than these two together!|
*Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
*Pour your chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Add your 1/2 cup peanut butter.
*In large microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips and peanut butter uncovered on High 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Microwave 30 seconds to 1 minute longer, stirring every 15 seconds, until melted and smooth.
*Pour in cereal and stir until coated.
*Drop mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
*Refrigerate until chocolate is firm.
** As a side note, I have dropped them by the tablespoonful, but this time attempted to do what my mother-in-law had done. I just poured them all out onto my pan (lined with aluminum foil b/c I was surely out of wax paper, lol) and then broke it up into pieces once it was hardened. I love it that way b/c then you can have a tiny piece, or a bigger piece.
