Tuesday Tip: Painting Barbies

April 2, 2013

I saw this idea a long time ago, and thought it was great.  I know a Barbie is just a Barbie and it’s fine.  For whatever reason, I hate when my kids run around with naked dolls and think it’s the funniest thing ever.  And sometimes it is … and sometimes, it’s just not.  🙂

Well, we took one of my daughters (many) Barbies and grabbed some nail polish.  I had my daughter pick 2 colors (with in reason) we could use.  Then you just start painting Barbies where you want it to always seem like there are clothes.

A couple tips.  I had to do 2 coats to get it looking decent — just like when painting nails.  🙂  Make sure to move the legs around, there are a lot of little spots in there.  Also … the starts to smell a LOT really quickly.  It may be a project you don’t want to do around a little baby, and just keep your kids at a little distance.  It dried quickly though.  I did the bottom, then did the top, then the bottom, then the top.

Easy and then your Barbie is dressed forever.  Lol.
