Banana Cream Pie Cheesecake

My husband and I recently celebrated out 9th wedding anniversary.  When I asked him if he wanted a fun treat he said his two favorite things:  Banana Cream Pie and Cheesecake.  I decided to do a little looking around and found a recipe for the combination of both!

Banana Cream Pie Cheesecake
Recipe adapted from Taste of Home

Crust:
20-25 Golden Oreos, crushed
1/4-1/3 cup melted butter

Pie Filling:
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 container Cool Whip (or similar) thawed, divided
3-4 Riper bananas
1 3/4 cup milk
1 (3.4 oz) package Jell-O pudding mix

First you’ll start by crushing your Oreos.  You can do this several ways.  I used a food processor, but you could easily put them in a zipper bag and crush them with your meat mallet (the flat side of course) or your rolling pin.
Combine the crumbs with the melted butter.  Press into a 9 inch Springform pan, or you could just use a 9 inch square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 5-7 minutes.
Remove and cool.

While the crust is cooling, you can make your filling.
Combine the cream cheese, and sugar.  Cream together in a mixing bowl until smooth.  Fold in half of the cool whip until combined.
Slice half of the bananas and arrange them on top of the cooled crust.
Layer half of your cream cheese mixture on top of the bananas.
Use remaining banana and cream cheese mixture and repeat.

In a smaller mans health bowl combine the milk and pudding mix and whisk for 2 minutes.  Let stand for 2 more minutes.
Fold in remaining cool whip.
Pour over the cream cheese layer.
Top with crushed Oreos set aside.
Refrigerate 1-2 hours or until set.

This is similar to the old Pampered Chef Banana Creme Supreme – but with cream cheese instead of sour cream and Oreos in the crust instead of graham crackers. I can tell already that it will be a hit with my family!

Issn’t a banana the perfect fruit? It just makes this cheesecake perfect for every occasion! I’ll try this one for my guys, they love all things cheesecake. Thank You for linking it this week to the Fluster Buster party! Have a great week, Lizy co host

Okay, so I made this (and am eating a slice right now) and it was SO good! I made a traditional graham cracker crust since I didn’t have oreos and substituted 1 c. confectioners sugar instead of the granulate in the cream cheese – and this is so stinking yummy! Thanks!
