We recently got to celebrate my baby’s first birthday party. We have a long standing tradition of doing a Sesame Street birthday party for our kids first birthday. I have a small Cookie Monster cake pan and that is the baby’s smash cake and everything. Since I did that with my first 5 kids, I had to continue tradition with my littlest.
Well, as luck would have it, little Emma ended up being sick the day of her party. We canceled and decided to celebrate while we were on vacation visiting my sister-in-law and her family. Also, as luck would have it … I forgot the traditional Cookie Monster cake pan. 🙁 I was so bummed. I forgot to do a lot of other things I was planning to for the party. I was able to pretend like I was an awesome cake decorator and made a Cookie Monster cake for my babe. She looks so board huh? I think she was pretty much done with everyone staring at her and taking her picture. Lol. Obviously she liked her cake though.
One thing that I was able to pull together, was adorable party favors!! Huge thanks to Wendi from Party Pixie for the adorable party printables, these turned out perfectly! I was able to put some on my cute mini cupcakes. I also had some adorable water bottle covers and some food labels — yeah, see, I forgot a few things. However, the cupcakes and the party favors were adorable and a huge hit. LOVE how they turned out. I grabbed those adorable little bags from the local craft store. They were seal-able, so I didn’t have to worry about the candies falling out. I took my thank you labels and stapled them, and I was done. You could totally do little baggies too and they’d be so cute. So easy and cute. I love the pop of color and how it matches perfectly. Make sure to check out the awesome giveaway I have going right now so you can plan your own party! Wendi is giving our winner 1 custom birthday invitation along with 3 other printables!!
