How to Get Rid of Fruit Flies

How to Get Rid of Fruit FliesHave you ever had to deal with fruit flies?  It’s so hard to get rid of fruit flies.  Regular flies … at least you can use the swatter.  Fruit flies are a whole different story.  They’re tiny and everywhere, and so hard to know what to do with them.

I recently canned a bunch of pears and pear jam with my mom.  It was great fun.  However … the 2 boxes of pears we got brought a LOT of fruit flies along with them.  This led my husband and I trying to figure out how to get rid of them.  My husband found a solution we tried out, and the situation is getting SO much better … like, it’s pretty much not a situation at all any more.

How to Get Rid of Fruit Flies:
What you’ll need:
*1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
*2 tsp dish soap
*glass cup
*plastic wrap
*rubber band

Mix the vinegar and dish soap in a small glass cup.
Cover with plastic wrap secured with a rubber band.
Use a fork on poke holes in the top of the plastic wrap.
Set the glass on the counter and the flies will go in and sink to the bottom.

It’s great! I’m so glad we found an easy solution to get rid of our fruit flies. It’s worth it to be annoyed to have all the awesome pears though! Lol.

I don’t know. Lol. My husband found it and so we’ve tried it out. I would assume so if they go towards it they can’t back out last minute, lol. 🙂 Just to contain them and force them to “go to the light”.
