The other day I ventured out with my 3 littles. We were on the hunt for some Kraft Shells & Cheese (their dad’s FAVORITE food ever. Seriously.). They were being such champs while we wandered all around Walmart to gather some other items we needed, and then headed over to the pasta section where we found this:
I was excited to find Walmart carried a Family Size available since that’s what we need in these parts. There is of course, the regular size as well.
Next, you’ll want to scoop about 1/2 cup into the ramekins, and then I put some of the chopped veggies on top. Then I stirred them in all together. We add more Shells & Cheese as needed to fill it. We probably could have done a bit more.
Next, we just put about 2 tsp of bread crumbs on top of the veggie baked Shells & Cheese. You could premix some bread crumbs with some melted butter if you wanted. We just left them, and it was great.
Put them in the oven on Broil for about 3 minutes. Once they’ve crisped up just a bit, take them out and they’re ready to serve. These are a perfect little comfort food side dish. You could easily make it more a meal and add chicken or even ground meat into the mixture. It’d be great served in a casserole dish as well.
As a side note, you could cook the veggies a bit first, if you prefer them tender. I love feeling like I’m #CookinComfort Food. 🙂 Super good.
