Truths Most Worth Knowing Review

October 12, 2015

I am excited to have been invited to participate in some reviews for Shadow Mountain Publishing and Deseret Book.

Truths Most Worth Knowing-1

Boyd K Packer of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles passed away, and days later this book was released to stores.  It was incredible timing that gave me chills when I heard.  President Packer was one apostle that I loved to hear speak, and read his talks.  He was gentle and firm all at the same time.  He didn’t hold back, but helped remind us that the Savior was there for us.

This book is so heart warming.  As I read through some of the words that President Packer had spoken I could hear his voice.  President Packer shares his witness over and over of the truthfulness of the gospel.  As I read his testimony and witness of Jesus Christ I couldn’t help but feel the Spirit near me testifying that he was indeed an Apostle of God who had been called of God.

I loved this quote: “The mist of darkness will cover you at times so much that you will note be able to see your way even a short distance ahead.  But you can feel your way.  Grasp the iron rod, and not not let go.”

Is that true?  We all have hard times.  We all have times of trial where incredible faith is needed.  Sometimes isn’t hard to remember to keep holding on, but we have to remember it’s the only way through tough trials.

Hold On_Michael McLean Tribute-1

Michael McLean is a wonderful artist.  I have always loved listening to his unique style and powerful words.  This music is a perfect tribute to him by various artists.  They’ve compiled some of Michael McLean’s greatest songs and they’re redone by other wonderful artists who love and admire Michael McLean.  We love to listen to this in the car.  It keeps the kids interested, and quiet (lol, that’s hard when you’ve got 6 kids) while I ponder the lyrics and let them sink in.  It’s a great CD to add to your collection of music.
