Just Let Go

Just Let Go Movie Review

A few years ago, I was so touched as I watched a Mormon Message about forgiveness.  I was moved to tears as I watched the absolute gut wrenching situation this family was put through.  Then, more tears and I watched as this man, who had so much taken from him, FORGAVE!  Go. Watch.  You’ll understand.  I watch that and I’m left with absolute desire to be better – in any and every way.

“Just Let Go” is a new movie that has come out that depicts the specific real events of Chris Williams and his family.

Henry Ian Cusick, Emmy Nominee, as Chris Williams in the true story “Just Let Go”. After surviving a drunk driving accident that killed his pregnant wife and two kids, Chris Williams struggles to ‘just let go’ and forgive the young man who caused it.

This movie was put together so beautifully.  It brought tears to my eyes.  It brought so much admiration to my heart as Chris is trying to do what is best for him, and for his boys.  It shows the heartache those boys went through as they lost their mother, and siblings.  It shows the anger that happens.  Healing is hard.  Healing is painful.  Healing is anguish.  Chris looked to his Savior through all of that healing.  He was able to just let go of it all because he was able to give it to his Savior.

As we begin the New Year, this message of forgiveness is an important reminder, that forgiveness can bring peace to your soul. “It has allowed a terrible tragedy … to be turned into, in many aspects, a tremendous blessing. That has been one of the most fascinating things to experience,” Williams said in a interview with the Deseret News. “To see the lives blessed since the crash, it has been overwhelming how many positive things have come from it.”

This year I hope that we can all take this amazing example of all the lives involved.  It’s HARD to let go of hard things.  We can all Just Let Go of hurtful, and painful things.  The ONLY way to truly do it is to let the Savior work through us.  To live so that His Spirit can be with us, and then let that Spirit lead and guide our lives.  I know that as we do that, our lives will be strengthened.  Our lives will be blessed.  Our burdens will be lighter.  Life will be hard, and trials will still come to us.  However, He will be there by our side to lead and guide.  He always is, and always will be.  He loves us. #justletgo
