How to Lose Weight Forever

February 20, 2016

Hey Friends!  Are you ready for this?!

In February of 2014, my youngest was 18 months old, and she was sleeping through the night.  I had no excuses any more.

I was done.  I was DONE!!

I was done feeling tired, and weak, and I was DONE feeling blah all the time.  I wanted to look in the mirror and see how I KNEW I actually was.  I wanted to be proud of myself.  I wanted to love what and who I saw.

Simplistically Sassy Before and After

I knew that I had to find myself.  I knew that if I could be who I wanted to be on the outside, I would be able to be the true me on the outside.  I KNEW that.

I could FEEL that in myself.

I saw my friends blog post about how she’d lost weight over the last year learning various habits, and eating REAL normal food that was at the grocery store.  That was a HUGE thing for me.  If I was going to go through a program, I NEEDED to shop at the grocery store.  I didn’t want to order food from the company, and I didn’t want to have that be an extra cost.  I have SEVEN other people to feed.  I wasn’t just going to change my lifestyle, it was going to be a family affair, at least to an extent.

When I first signed up to work with John through his Bod-E-Volv program, I was stoked.  One of the best lessons I learned from John was that it was going to take dedication, work, and it was NOT going to just be a downward slope on the scale.

You guys, it was HARD.  It was SO HARD!!

It still is hard!  But it’s been 1000% worth every moment, every up and down, and every new habit I’ve had to learn.  I still have a little ways to go, but that’s totally okay.  Know why?  Because I”m still trying.

Here are the 5 things that I did for over a year to lose body FAT (not just weight, but get rid of FAT), and to keep it off.  Anyone can do these things.  Any mother, wife, women, man, husband – we can all do these things!  Just remember that it’s HARD though.

You have to DEDICATE yourself to YOU.

You have to be willing to make time for yourself, and it’s hard.  It’s so so so worth it though.

I’ve had lots of struggles with weight loss. I’ve gained weight with and after each pregnancy. My problem is I’m addicted to food. I eat when I’m hungry, bored, depressed, socially, etc. Food is how my mom dealt with trials and I’ve learned the same habits. But I’m to the point where I want to change. I’ve started recording my food each day, which is a big help. Right now I’m just at the phase of wanting to get my life back. It is so hard to find time for yourself as a mom. But I know it’s necessary. I’ve also started each meal by drinking a tall glass of water first. I also ask myself, am I hungry because I’m really hungry? Or just because I’m bored and want to eat? I think that helps too. Thanks for sharing your post.

Kim, I think recognizing that is such a HUGE, HUGE step though! HUGE! Recording food is helpful too. I’m posting tomorrow about another thing that helps me to not eat while I’m in the kitchen, and I don’t actually need to eat. 🙂 I’m super excited for you. You’ve got this! You’re amazing.

Kara, you are so beautiful inside and out! What a great article! It’s so true, we have to forgive ourselves and move on. Playing that mental game where we beat ourselves up never brings anything good. But forgiving allows us to free ourselves mentally. It was so fun to meet you!
